TopCity Half Marathon and 5K
The TopCity Half Marathon takes place in Topeka, Kansas, with the course starting near South Kansas Avenue. The event is designed to highlight the local culture and wellness of the city by utilizing various urban and natural pathways. Participants navigate a route that includes the Shunga running trail and travels through several Topeka neighborhoods.
The event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 5K
Those participating in the half marathon are required to maintain a minimum pace of 16 minutes per mile to accommodate city street closure permits. All registered runners receive a race t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a participant bag containing items from event sponsors.
The post-race area provides refreshments, including coffee and beverages from local businesses such as Chaos Coffee and Iron Rail Brewing. Access to alcoholic beverage options is restricted to participants aged 21 and over. Registration for the different distances opens in December 2025 and concludes in early 2026.
