Toni's Race: Strollin' for the Colon : event description
Toni's Race is a community fundraising event held at Stewart Lodge in Mendon Ponds Park, Honeoye Falls, NY. The program includes a USATF-certified 5K race (certificate NY23008KL) immediately followed by a short community walk. The organization running the event is a non-profit dedicated to raising funds and providing support for individuals and families affected by colorectal cancer.
Proceeds from this year's event will benefit three local organizations: Cancer Support Community at Gilda's Club, Cancer Services Program of the Finger Lakes, and the Livingston County Department of Health. These organizations provide support services, financial assistance to patients and families, and education about the importance of early screening for colon cancer. The event also offers seed funding for colorectal cancer research.
Alongside the race and walk there is a kids fun run and other activities for children, music, food, prize opportunities, and information booths staffed by physicians and vendors to answer questions about colon cancer and related topics. Registration information is available in advance; the stated registration fee is $35. Early packet pickup is available the day before at Rochester Running Co., 1387 Mt. Hope Ave, Rochester, NY 14620. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
