Toni's Race: Strollin' for the Colon
The 15th annual Toni's Race: Strollin' for the Colon takes place at Stewart Lodge in Mendon Ponds Park, located in Honeoye Falls, New York. This event is organized by a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for colorectal cancer support, education, and research. The proceeds are used to assist patients and families with financial needs resulting from treatment and to provide seed funding for medical research.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 5K USATF certified (NY23008KL) running course
- 1 Mile walking course
- Kids Fun Run
The event activities extend beyond the courses to include music and food. Attendees have the opportunity to interact with physicians and vendors who provide information and answer questions regarding colon cancer and related topics. There are also specific activities designed for children and the chance for participants to win prizes.
Early packet pickup is available on the day prior to the event at the Rochester Running Co. store on Mt. Hope Ave in Rochester. The race represents an effort to highlight that colon cancer is a common illness in the U.S. where early detection is a significant factor in health outcomes.
