Event Overview
The TMC Saguaro National Park Labor Day 8-Miler and 5k takes place on September 7, 2026. It is held within the grounds of Saguaro National Park East near Tucson, Arizona.
The event offers three race options:
- Saguaro 8-Mile Run
- Saguaro 5k Run/Walk
- Saguaro 8-Mile Walk
Course Details
The courses are on paved roads through the Cactus Forest landscape. The 8-Mile is a clockwise loop with rolling hills. The 5k is an out-and-back course covering the final portion of the 8-mile route.
Registration and Fees
Registration for the 2026 event is open. The race entry fee includes an entrance pass to Saguaro National Park. A $5 discount is available for registrants who provide a valid National Park Service number. Members of the organizing club, Southern Arizona Roadrunners (SAR), receive a discount on registration fees. The event has a participant cap of 750 people.
Event Features
Participants receive a free technical race shirt. A souvenir medal is available as an optional add-on purchase. Awards are given for overall and age group categories, and there is prize money for course records.
Beneficiaries
A portion of the proceeds supports the National Park Service, the Friends of Saguaro National Park, and the Southern Arizona Roadrunners' Children's Fitness Fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
