TMC Saguaro National Park Labor Day 8 Miler and 5K
The event offers multiple timed and non-timed distances within Saguaro National Park East in Tucson, Arizona. The course runs through the cactus forest at the base of the Rincon Mountains and features desert vegetation such as saguaros, prickly pears, and ocotillos. Wildlife such as javelinas and rattlesnakes are possible along the route.
Distances
- 8 miles : clockwise loop with rolling paved hills and mountain views
- 5 km : out and back covering the final portion of the 8 mile course
- 8 miles : walk option for participants expecting more than 2.5 hours on course
The 8 mile run is described as a loop with rolling hills and views of the Rincon and Catalina Mountains and the Tucson basin. The 5 km route is a shorter out-and-back that follows the final segment of the longer course. The 8 mile walk is designated as a non-competitive option with no awards.
Race entry includes a day pass into Saguaro National Park. The event is produced by the Southern Arizona Roadrunners and supports the National Park Service, Friends of Saguaro, and the Southern Arizona Roadrunners Children's Fitness Fund.
