Thanksgiving XC Classic 5K & 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The event takes place at Reid Park in Tucson on November 26, 2026. It features a European style cross-country layout with hay bales and surfaces that include grass, dirt, and some asphalt. The 5K is part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix.

- 5K course run as two loops
- 1.5 mile fun run as one loop
The course starts near Ramada #10 at the southwest corner of Reid Park, at 22nd Street and Country Club Road. Strollers are welcome, though the course is hilly and mostly on grass and dirt; lanes are provided to bypass the hay bales. Dogs are not permitted for participant safety.
Awards in the 5K include Brooks running shoes for overall and masters winners provided by The Running Shop. Age group divisions run from 10 and under, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-24, then five year divisions through age 84, and 85 and over. The fun run is not officially timed; fun run finishers receive a ribbon. Team scoring totals the top four times from teams of up to seven members and top team awards are given in men’s and women’s categories. Teams must be registered by Tuesday, November 25.
Packet pickup is available at The Running Shop on the published pre-race dates and on race morning at Reid Park ramada #10. Shirts are cotton, offered in women’s, unisex, and youth sizes and are distributed first come, first served. The race benefits Team Hoyt Arizona and Toys for Tots.
