The Thanksgiving XC Classic takes place on November 27, 2025, at Reid Park, Ramada #10, at the southwest corner of 22nd Street and Country Club Road in Tucson, AZ. The event includes a cross-country style 5K and a 1.5 mile fun run/walk. The 5K is part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix and has separate men's and women's races. Packet pickup is offered at The Running Shop on the days before the race and at the race site on race day. Cotton T-shirts are provided in unisex, women's, and youth sizes on a first-come, first-served basis.
Course, rules and awards
The course follows a European-style cross-country layout with hay bales and surfaces of grass, dirt, and some asphalt. The 5K is two loops and the 1.5 mile event is one loop. Strollers are allowed; lanes are provided to bypass the hay bales. Dogs are not allowed. The fun run is not officially timed and finishers receive a ribbon. Overall and masters winners in the 5K receive a pair of Brooks running shoes from The Running Shop. Age-group awards include Thanksgiving-themed awards for first place, pies for second place, and medals for third place. The race benefits Team Hoyt Arizona and Toys for Tots; organizers collect new, unwrapped toys.
