Thanksgiving XC Classic 5K & 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The event uses a European style cross-country course with hay bales and mixed surfaces including grass, dirt, and a little asphalt. The 5K is two loops and the 1.5 mile fun run is one loop. The 5K is part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix.

The course starts near Ramada #10 at the southwest corner of Reid Park, at 22nd St and Country Club Rd in Tucson, AZ. The route is hilly and mostly on grass and dirt; lanes are provided to bypass the hay bales. Strollers are welcome. For safety, dogs are not permitted.
Awards are presented for overall and masters winners in the men's and women's 5K; those overall winners receive a pair of Brooks running shoes from The Running Shop. Age groups begin at 10 and under, continue through teen and adult categories, use five-year divisions through age 84, with an 85 and over category. The fun run is not officially timed; fun run finishers receive a ribbon. First place age group winners receive a Thanksgiving themed award, second place receives a pie, and third place receives a medal.
Team scoring totals the top four times from teams of up to seven members. Teams and team members must be registered by Tuesday, November 25 at 6:00 PM; no team signups or team formation are allowed on race day.
