TMC Earth Day 5K at Biosphere 2
The TMC Earth Day 5K takes place on the grounds of the Biosphere 2 research facility in Oracle, Arizona. Participants run or walk through the backroads of the facility, which is situated at the base of the Catalina Mountains north of Tucson. The course offers desert and mountain views with a start and finish line located on the Great Lawn.
The event features a 5k distance (approximately 3.1 miles) on a course consisting mostly of pavement with a brief dirt section. The route includes rolling terrain that is hilly in sections. This event is open to participants of various abilities, though attendees should be mindful of the hills and unpaved segments. While strollers are permitted, pets are not allowed on the course.

- Children's 5k (comprising the same 3.1 mile distance)
Registered participants receive several benefits, including a timed result with a finisher's video and a souvenir shirt for the first 600 registrants. All participants receive entry to the Biosphere 2 facility, allowing for a self-guided visit to the various ecosystems such as the rainforest, savannah, and ocean gallery. Post-race activities on the Great Lawn include music, snacks, drinks, and a free kids dash. Proceeds from the event support the Ocean Reef research project at the Biosphere 2 Ocean Reef Lab.
