Tigger Tor Fell Race

The Tigger Tor fell race takes place on Sun 25 Jan 2026 at Fox House, Longshaw, Sheffield, in the Peak District. The course is approximately 14.2 km / 8.8 miles with about 490 m / 1610 ft of climb. It is an FRA category BM race and the minimum age for entry is 18.

Course and format

The route is entirely off-road and involves navigating to 12 checkpoints in numerical order via an unmarked route over Houndkirk Moor, Burbage Moor and Hathersage Moor. There is a short mandatory section along Houndkirk Road at the start. Landmarks on the route include Houndkirk Hill, Burbage Edge, Higger Tor, Winyards Nick, Toad’s Mouth and Carl Wark. Teams of three are permitted. Dogs are not allowed on the course.

Entry, kit and facilities

Entry is by online pre-entry only; there is no entry on the day and places are limited. The race is held under FRA rules and has associated FRA permit/insurance. All entrants must carry and pass a kit check for the FRA minimum kit, which includes waterproof whole-body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat, gloves, a printed map of the route, a baseplate compass, a whistle and emergency food. Electronic navigation for route-finding is not permitted. Toilets, food and refreshments are available and parking is limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
