Tiger Claw - Issaquah, WA
Tiger Claw is a trail race weekend on Tiger Mountain near Issaquah. The event offers several formats that use three distinct climbs and one common descent; runners may choose the order in which they complete the loops and use timing devices to verify each completed climb.
The full 50k course covers approximately 31 miles and includes about 8,500 feet of elevation gain on rugged Pacific Northwest terrain. The Ascent is a focused vertical race on the Cable Line route to the summit of West Tiger 2; that climb is about 2.5 miles with 2,500 feet of vertical gain, followed by an untimed 3 mile descent back to the trailhead. A Double option repeats all loops in the opposite direction to total about 50 miles and nearly 17,000 feet of elevation gain.
Relay and team formats include the Ambush, a new three person relay in which teammates start together, split to run different ascents, then regroup at the lower aid station and finish together; the team time is recorded as the last member to cross the finish line.
There are two aid stations, Base Camp and High Camp. Aid stations will not provide disposable cups; runners must carry at least one water bottle and may use provided water pitchers or collapsible cups.
