Event overview
Tiger Claw takes place May 8-9, 2026 in Issaquah, WA, based at the Issaquah Community Center. The event features multiple race options and a relay format on the trails of Tiger Mountain. Registration opens Dec 5, 2025. The organizer offers equal podium prizing for Men, Women and Non-Binary categories.
Courses and race format
The event centers on three distinct climbs that share a common descent. Runners may choose the order in which they complete the loops, with a timing device used to confirm each climb. Distances and formats include:
- Ascent: 2.5 miles, 2,500 ft ascent via the Cable Line route
- 50k: ~31 miles with ~8,500 ft of elevation gain
- 50m Double: 50 miles completing the course twice, near 17,000 ft total
- Big Cat: combined Ascent and 50k registration
- Ambush relay: three-person team following the 50k start, then splitting to individual ascents
The Ascent finishes at the summit of West Tiger 2; the descent to the trailhead is an untimed 3-mile return.
Logistics and services
There are two aid stations, Base Camp and High Camp, stocked with drinks and basic race food. Participants must carry at least one water bottle; there will be no single-use cups, but water pitchers and collapsible cups will be available to refill bottles. The event enforces multiple aid-station cutoffs. A waitlist process is used if the race fills; invitations from the waitlist must be accepted within seven days.
