Event Overview
The Tiger 5K is an annual community running event held at Newton North High School in Newton, Massachusetts. The course is designed to start and finish on the track located at Dickinson Stadium. Participants follow a route that begins and ends at 457 Walnut Street.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 5 km road and track race.
- 400 m Fun Run for children aged 10 and under.
The Fun Run consists of exactly one lap around the Newton North High School track. For the main 5 km event, participants under the age of 18 are eligible for specific registration discounts. Runners who complete their registration by early October are guaranteed an event shirt.
Competition and Prizes
Awards are presented to the top overall finishers in the 5 km race. Recognition is also provided for various age categories, including 18 and Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and Masters. Every child participating in the Fun Run receives a prize upon completion of their lap.
In addition to performance-based awards, the event features a costume element. Participants have the option to run in Halloween costumes, and prizes are awarded to the three best costumes identified during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
