About the race
The Tidewater Striders Distance Series #3 takes place at the entrance to the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, 1246 Dismal Canal Trail, Chesapeake, VA. The event offers multiple measured courses that begin and finish at the trail entrance and use marked turnaround points on the trail.
Course format:
- 10K course uses the 5K turnaround and returns to the finish.
- 20K course uses the 10K turnaround and returns to the finish.
- 30K course uses the 10K turnaround, returns across the timing mats, then goes back out to the 5K turnaround and returns to complete 30K.
Registration and logistics: entry is listed at $50 per event and there are no refunds. Registration closes at 9:00 PM the Friday before each event. Early packet pickup is available at Running Etc., Hilltop location on Friday, February 26, and additional pickup is available on race morning at the start/finish area. Finish line closure is governed by a 15 minute per mile pace policy.
Additional notes: the 20K and 30K count toward the Strider Running Grand Prix and the 10K counts toward the walker Grand Prix. An after race party is scheduled at Tap It Local, 648 Grassfield Pkwy, #12, in the Wal-Mart shopping center, approximately 3.5 miles from the start/finish.
