Tidewater Striders Distance Series 2027 : Distance Series 1
The event takes place at the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail in Chesapeake, Virginia. It offers both running and race walk options over multiple distances and includes an after race gathering at Tap It Local, 648 Grassfield Parkway, Chesapeake, about 3.5 miles from the start and finish area.

The series supports multi race challenge bundles. The 10K Challenge requires a 5K at Distance Series 1 on the Dismal Canal Trail, a 5 mile event at Fort Monroe for Distance Series 2, and a 10K at Distance Series 3 on the Dismal Canal Trail. The Half Marathon Challenge begins with a 10K at Distance Series 1, includes a 10 mile event at Fort Monroe for Distance Series 2, and a 20K at Distance Series 3. The Marathon Challenge includes a 20K at the Dismal Swamp Canal, a 15 mile event at Fort Monroe, and a 30K back at the Dismal Swamp Canal. The Fort Monroe 15 miler is designated as a Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix event; some Distance Series events are part of the Striders Grand Prix.
Registration details and fees are published for each distance. A long sleeve technical shirt is offered as a premium for a fee of 10.00 USD; orders are placed after Distance Series 1 and pickup is available at Distance Series 3 on February 27. Packet pickup occurs the Friday before each event from 4 to 6 PM at Running Etc Hilltop and race morning from 7:15 AM to 8:20 AM. Registration opens August 15, 2026 and closes October 9, 2026.
