Tidewater Striders Distance Series - January 31, 2026
The event takes place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Fort Monroe in Hampton, VA. The program includes multiple distance events and walk options. Distances offered include:
- 5 miles
- 10 miles
- 15 miles
There is a separate 5-mile walk and competitive walk options for the 10-mile and 15-mile distances. Entry fees listed are $45 for the 5-mile events and $60 for the 10- and 15-mile events. Prices increase after January 23, 2026.
Course, packet pickup and other logistics
The course runs at Fort Monroe and crosses the moat bridge, loops inside the inner fort, continues off base over the Mercury Boulevard Bridge, then returns to the base and coastline. The 5-mile event uses one loop, the 10-mile two loops, and the 15-mile three loops. Race-day packet pickup is at the Fort Monroe Community Center, 100 Stillwell Road, Fort Monroe, VA 23651; a packet pickup is also available at Running Etc. Hilltop on Friday, January 30. There is a large parking lot at the community center and the start/finish area.
An after-race gathering is planned at Paradise Ocean Club, 490 Fenwick Road, Fort Monroe; food listed includes hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, chips and beer. The 10- and 15-mile races are part of the Tidewater Striders Grand Prix; the 15-mile event is a Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix for this series.
