Tidewater Striders 2026 Distance Series #2 : Fort Monroe, Hampton VA (January 31, 2026)
The event is a distance race series held at Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia. Multiple running and competitive race walk options are offered over a looped course that travels inside the inner fort, crosses the moat bridge, continues off base over the Mercury Boulevard Bridge, and returns to the base with views of the coastline.
Distances:
- 5 Mile
- 10 Mile
- 15 Mile
The 5 mile course equals one loop, the 10 mile course equals two loops, and the 15 mile course equals three loops. The 15 mile distance qualifies for the Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix, and the 10 and 15 mile distances are part of the Tidewater Striders Grand Prix. Finish line closure is determined by a 15 minute per mile pace.
Packet pickup locations are specified for pre-race and race day distribution; race day pickup is located at the Fort Monroe Community Center near the start and finish area. A post-race gathering is planned at Paradise Ocean Club in Fort Monroe; food and beverage items listed for that gathering include hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, chips and beer.
The Race Director and the Tidewater Striders reserve the right to cancel, reschedule or adjust distances for safety or access reasons. There are no refunds, though organizers may attempt to reschedule. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
