Event

St. Kateri's Run/Walk with the Son for Haiti 5K is a community 5-kilometre event held on December 6, 2025, at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 3800 Big Bethel Rd, Yorktown, VA 23693. The event is a fundraiser; all proceeds support education for children in Boucan Carré, Haiti. Last year the race funds provided over 300 students with school tuition, uniforms, books, a daily vitamin and a hot meal for the school year.

Course and competition

The course starts and finishes behind the church on Manassas Loop in the Running Man subdivision. The route is described as well marked and flat. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women, top three in 16 age groups through 80+, and top three men and women walk finishers. A high school challenge awards a trophy to the winning team by average of the top five runners; an elementary/middle school trophy goes to the school with the most participants. The race is a Peninsula Track Club Grand Prix and Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix event. Peninsula Track Club times are used; no PTC passes are accepted and official times are not recorded after 45 minutes from the start.
