About the race
St. Kateri's Run/Walk with the Son for Haiti is a community 5K held on December 5, 2026 at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 3800 Big Bethel Rd, Yorktown VA. The 2026 event marks the 20th anniversary of the Run with the Son for Haiti.
The event raises funds to support education in Boucan Carre, Haiti. Proceeds go directly to that cause. Last year the race provided over 300 students with school tuition, uniforms, books, a daily vitamin and a hot meal for the full school year.
The event program includes pickup food and drinks before and after the race, live music performed by the Tabb High School Jazz Band, giveaways, prize raffles and a silent auction. Raffle tickets are offered at set prices and a special raffle will offer three nights in an Outer Banks condominium with separate ticket pricing. A t shirt is guaranteed for participants who meet the organizer deadline of November 20.
The course starts and finishes behind the church on Manassas Loop in the Running Man Subdivision and is described as well marked, flat and fast. Awards are given to the top three overall men and women, the top three in 16 age groups through 80 and above, and the top three men and women walk finishers. A high school team trophy is awarded based on the average of the top five runners, and an elementary and middle school trophy is awarded for most participants.
This is a Peninsula Track Club Grand Prix event and part of the Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix. The race is timed by the Peninsula Track Club, no PTC passes are accepted and official times are not recorded after 45 minutes from the start.
