The Tidewater Striders Distance Series #2 takes place on January 31, 2026, at Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia. Distance options are:
- 5 Mile
- 10 Mile
- 15 Mile
Each distance is offered as both a run and a competitive race walk. The 15-mile distance qualifies for the Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix. The 10- and 15-mile events are part of the Tidewater Striders Grand Prix.
Course and logistics
The course uses Fort Monroe and nearby roads. It crosses the moat bridge, loops inside the inner fort, continues off base over the Mercury Blvd. Bridge, then returns to the base with views of the coastline. The course is set as 1 loop = 5 miles, 2 loops = 10 miles, and 3 loops = 15 miles.
Packet pickup is available before race day at Running Etc., 1940 Laskin Rd, Virginia Beach, VA, on the Friday before the race. Race day packet pickup is at the Fort Monroe Community Center, 100 Stillwell Rd, Fort Monroe, VA, where a large parking lot surrounds the center and the start/finish is a short walk away. A post-race gathering is scheduled at Paradise Ocean Club, 490 Fenwick Road, Fort Monroe; food will include hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, chips and beer.
The finish line is subject to a closure policy based on a 15-minute-per-mile pace. The race director and organizers may cancel, reschedule or adjust distances for safety or access; there are no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
