Event Overview
The Tidewater Striders Distance Series #3 takes place on the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail in Chesapeake, Virginia. It is the third race of the 2026 series.
Event Distances
The event offers run and competitive race walk categories for three distances:
- 10k (6.2 miles)
- 20k (12.4 miles)
- 30k (18.6 miles)
Course Details
The start and finish line is located at the trail's rest stop at Mile Post 4. All courses are out-and-back on the trail. The 10k distance goes to the 5k turnaround point (3.1 miles out) and back. The 20k and 30k distances go to the 10k turnaround point (6.2 miles out) and return. 30k participants then complete a second out-and-back segment to the 5k turnaround point after crossing the timing mats.
A rest stop is available at Mile Post 4. The finish line closes based on a 15-minute-per-mile pace. An early start may be available for 30k walkers and slower runners only, by prior arrangement.
Additional Information
A post-race party is held at Tap It Local, located approximately 3.5 miles from the start/finish line. The event is part of the Strider Grand Prix series. There are no refunds for this event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
