Tidewater Strider Marathon and Half Marathon : April 26, 2026

The Tidewater Strider Spring event in Chesapeake, VA includes a full marathon and a half marathon on April 26, 2026. The marathon course is USATF certified and designated as a Boston-qualifying course. The event is part of a multi-day festival that also features a 5-mile race and a kids' 1-mile on the preceding day and bundled race options that pair those events with the marathon or half marathon. Packet pickup is available early on April 24 at Point 2 Running Company and on race morning at the parking lot near the starting area. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Post-race hospitality and an onsite awards ceremony are provided.

Course, support and awards

The races take place on the closed two-lane roadway of the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail at Rest Stop Mile Post 4, 1200 Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Chesapeake, VA 23322. Aid stations will provide water and hydration drinks; the half marathon has four aid stations and the marathon has nine. Nutrition drop tables are available in multiple areas of the course. Awards and prizes include top overall and masters places and age-group awards; prize money is listed for top finishers in the marathon and half marathon.
