Tidewater Strider Marathon and Half Marathon - Spring Edition
The Tidewater Strider Spring event is scheduled for April 26, 2026, at the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail in Chesapeake, Virginia. It includes a full marathon and a half marathon on a closed two-lane roadway within Dismal Swamp Trail Park. The full marathon course is USATF certified and is designated as a Boston-qualifying course.
Course support and services are specified: the marathon has nine aid stations and the half marathon has four aid stations, each offering water and hydration drinks. Nutrition drop tables are available in multiple areas of the course. Finishers receive a custom finisher medal and there is an onsite post-race hospitality area and awards ceremony. Awards are presented to top overall finishers, masters division leaders (age 40+), and top finishers in 10-year age groups. Prize money is listed for the top positions in the marathon and the half marathon.
Additional events and weekend options are part of the Striders Spring Running Festival, including a 5-mile race and combined-event challenges that pair the 5-mile race with the half or full marathon. Early packet pickup is at Point 2 Running Company in Chesapeake on Friday, April 24 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Race day packet pickup is available in the parking lot near the starting area.
