Event overview
The Tidewater Strider Spring Marathon and Half Marathon takes place on April 26, 2026 in Chesapeake, Virginia at the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail (rest stop at mile post 4, 1200 Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Chesapeake, VA 23322). The event includes these distances:
- 26.2 mi Strider Marathon
- 13.1 mi Strider Half Marathon

- Strider Half Marathon Walkers
Listed entry fees are $75 for the marathon and $50 for the half marathon. The event is part of a multi-day festival with optional race bundles that combine the marathon or half marathon with a 5 Miler held the day before.
Course and logistics
The marathon and half marathon run on a closed two-lane roadway at Dismal Swamp Trail Park. The full marathon course is USATF certified and designated as a Boston qualifying course. Aid stations: the half marathon has 4 aid stations and the marathon has 9 aid stations, each providing water and hydration drinks. Nutrition drop tables will be available in multiple areas of the course.
Packet pickup is available early at Point 2 Running Company, 741 Eden Way N #310, Chesapeake, VA, on Friday, April 24 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, and on race morning at the parking lot near the starting line. Post-race amenities include finisher medals, onsite hospitality and refreshments, and an awards ceremony with overall and age-group prizes. Prize money is listed for top finishers in both races.
