Event overview
Tidal Trails is a beach festival event in South Shields on 16 August 2026. The event includes a race village with food and drink, live music and stage entertainment, and beach games and activities throughout the afternoon. Races and activities
Races offered include:
- 8km trail run starting and finishing on the beach, continuing up onto the Leas grass above the shoreline
- 2km trail run for younger or less experienced runners
Additional running activities include a Super Sand Sprint, a barefoot sprint across the beach, and a Families on Track continuous relay for all ages. Event Village access is available separately.

- 8km Trail Run: £35, includes all day Event Village access
- Adult 2km Trail Run: £15, includes all day Event Village access
- U16 2km Trail Run: £8, includes all day Event Village access
- Event Village Adult access: £10 (no race entry)
- Event Village U16 access: £5 (no race entry)
