Event
Tico's Gravel Grinder 10K is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina. The race is an inaugural trail 10K held at Harbison State Forest with a route on rolling gravel terrain. The event is presented in association with Palmetto Wildlife Rescue; proceeds from the race will go to that organization. The race also marks the 10th birthday of Tico, Palmetto Wildlife Rescue's resident raccoon.
Logistics and support
The start area is at the Education Center in Harbison State Forest, 5600 Broad River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212. Registration opens on June 13, 2026, with tiered fees: Early Bird until July 31 ($25), August 1 - September 14 ($30), September 15 - Race Day ($35), and Race Day ($40). To guarantee a race shirt, registration should be completed before October 10. Packet pickup is available the day before at Fleet Feet Irmo (945 Lake Murray Blvd, Irmo, SC 29063) and on race day at the start line. On-site vendors include Topo Athletic, Feetures, and Tailwind Nutrition. Representatives from Palmetto Wildlife Rescue will be present to share information about their work.
