Event overview
The True to the Brew 5K takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in downtown Columbia, South Carolina. The course follows the Capital City Passage of the Palmetto Trail and starts and finishes near the Palmetto Trail office at 722 King Street, Columbia, SC 29205. Registration is priced at $35 and the price increases after January 31, 2026. The field is capped at 500 participants. Proceeds benefit the Palmetto Trail for trail expansion and maintenance across South Carolina. The event is rain or shine; there are no refunds or deferrals. Strollers and dogs on a leash are allowed.
Logistics and amenities
Packet pick-up is available Friday, March 6 (4:00 PM to 6:30 PM) at Craft & Draft on Devine Street, where presenting a race bib at pick-up includes a free beer. Race day packet pick-up and on-site registration open at 8:00 AM at the Palmetto Trail Offices, 722 King Street. Parking is available at Bethel AME Church, 819 Woodrow Street, and on nearby streets in the Old Shandon neighborhood; participants are asked not to park on King Street.
Post-race and awards
A post-race celebration at the Palmetto Trail Headquarters will include live music, food (hamburgers, veggie burgers, grilled cheese), and complimentary Palmetto Trail Ale from Craft & Draft. All finishers receive a custom bottle opener medal. Awards are given three deep for Overall (male and female), Masters (male and female), and five-year age groups for men and women.
