Event Overview
The True to the Brew 5K – Capital City Passage is a 5K running event in Columbia, South Carolina. It follows an urban trail course along the Capital City Passage of the Palmetto Trail through downtown Columbia. The event is capped at 500 participants.
Course and Logistics
The course is described as a new urban trail. The start and finish are near the Palmetto Trail office at 722 King Street. The event allows participants with strollers and dogs on leashes. Parking on race day is available at the Bethel AME Church parking lot at 819 Woodrow Street, as well as on streets in the Old Shandon neighborhood, but not on King Street.
Post-Race Celebration
The finish line celebration is held at the Palmetto Trail Headquarters at 722 King Street. It features live music, complimentary beer from Craft & Draft, and a cookout. All finishers receive a custom bottle opener medal.
Registration and Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at Craft & Draft on Devine Street, where a free beer is offered with bib presentation. Race-day packet pickup is also available at the Palmetto Trail Offices starting at 8:00 AM. The event has a refund policy of "No Refunds or Deferrals."
