True to the Brew 5K - Capital City Passage
The True to the Brew 5K takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina. The course follows the Capital City Passage of the Palmetto Trail through downtown Columbia and starts and finishes near the Palmetto Trail office at 722 King Street. The event is part of the Palmetto Trail Race Series and the True to the Brew Trifecta, which also includes 10K and 13.1 distances. The race field is capped at 500 participants. Proceeds benefit the Palmetto Trail for trail expansion and maintenance across South Carolina. The event is held rain or shine and has a no refunds or deferrals policy. Strollers and dogs on leash are permitted.
Logistics and amenities
Registration price is listed as $40, with a price increase after January 31, 2026. Packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, March 6, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Craft & Draft on Devine Street; race day packet pick-up will be available at the Palmetto Trail offices at 722 King Street. The finish area at Palmetto Trail Headquarters will include live music, beer provided by Craft & Draft, and a cookout with hamburgers, veggie burgers, and grilled cheese. All finishers receive a custom bottle opener medal. Awards are given three deep for overall, masters, and five-year age groups. Parking is available at Bethel AME Church, 819 Woodrow Street, with additional street parking in the Old Shandon neighborhood; King Street must remain clear for the event.
