Tibberton Trot

The Tibberton Trot is a village 10 km multi terrain race organised in partnership with Newport & District Running Club and the Tibberton community. The event debuted in 2019, paused for 2020 and 2021, and returned in 2022. It is held in September each year.

The course is run anti clockwise and mixes surfaces, with around 50 m of total elevation change. The start and finish are on the playing fields next to Tibberton School, and a junior 1 km fun run takes place before the main race. The race atmosphere is described as having a village fête feel.

Local amenities on the day include food sold by the community shop and village hall, for example cooked items such as bacon baps. Funds raised by the event are returned to causes that benefit the local community. Special prizes are awarded to the fastest male and female runners who are residents of Tibberton.

The 2026 edition is scheduled for Sunday 13 September; entries will open nearer the time.
