Tibberton Trot

The Tibberton Trot is a 10 km multi-terrain race organised in partnership between Newport & District Running Club and the Tibberton community. The event is based in Tibberton, a village just off the B5032 in the Telford and Wrekin borough of Shropshire. It debuted in 2019.

The course is run anti-clockwise and mixes surfaces, with around 50 m of elevation change. The event takes place each September, with the start and finish located on the playing fields next to Tibberton School. A junior 1 km fun run takes place before the main race.

Local facilities such as the community shop and village hall sell cooked food on the day, including bacon baps, and funds raised from the race are returned to causes that benefit the community. Special prizes are awarded to the fastest Tibberton resident runners in both male and female categories.

The race paused for 2020 and 2021 because of Covid and returned in 2022. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Sunday 13th September.
