Thunder Chicken 100K Stage Races: May 15 to 17, 2026
Thunder Chicken 100K Stage Races is a three day trail running stage race presented by Terrain Trail Runners and hosted at the Beulah Shelter in Greensfelder County Park, Wildwood, Missouri. The event links the trail systems of Greensfelder, Rockwoods Range, and Rockwoods Reservation across multiple technical singletrack routes.
Distances offered:
- All 3 Days (100K total, staged)
- 21-ish miles (Stage 1)
- 26-ish miles (Stage 2)
- 25K-ish (Stage 3)
Course notes: Stage 1 (Tour de Rockwoods Range) covers varied, technical terrain with about 2,650 feet of cumulative elevation gain. Stage 2 (Tour de Rockwoods Reservation) is an out-and-back with approximately 4,150 feet of cumulative elevation gain and sustained technical climbs. Stage 3 (Tour de Greensfelder) emphasizes faster singletrack with roughly 1,850 feet of cumulative elevation gain and a final steep climb.
Logistics and services: there will be at least one aid station per stage. Race day registration options and fees are listed for single stages, all three days, and Pick 2 combinations; race day registration prices are provided for each option. Swag includes a custom cotton/poly T-shirt (guaranteed for registrations by April 19, 2026), custom medals for individual stage finishers, and a custom belt buckle for all three day finishers. Post-race food and beer are provided for Stages 1 and 2; Stage 3 and All 3 Day finishers receive a taco bar with veggie and non-veggie options.
Sustainability: the event is cup free and asks runners to bring a reusable drink receptacle and a mess kit. Collapsible cups may be available for purchase at check in for $5 while supplies last. The race partnered with the Trail Mix Fund in December 2025; the fund may cover registration fees for runners who cannot afford them to support diversity and access.
