Wild in the Woods - 5 & 10 Mile Trail Race
Wild in the Woods is a trail race held at Broemmelsiek Park in Defiance, Missouri. The event on December 5, 2026 uses the park's Hilltop Shelter as its race location and offers two looped trail distances.
The event is part of the Big River Trail Series and counts as the second race in that series. Points are tallied for runners who complete three of the six series events, which include the Wild in the Woods 5 mile or 10 mile, the Skippo 10k, the Skippo half marathon and 30k, and the Castlewood Cup 15k. Packet pickup is available before the event at Big River Running Company West County and on race day at the Hilltop Shelter in Broemmelsiek Park. Regular registration fees are listed as $39 for the 5 mile and $49 for the 10 mile. A 10 percent discount is offered to entrants who register for the full Trail Series by the deadline stated by the organizers.
