Wild in the Woods
Wild in the Woods is a trail race at Broemmelsiek Park in Defiance, Missouri, scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2026. The event is centered at the Hilltop Shelter, 1795 Hwy DD, Defiance, MO 63341, and offers two distance options on marked trail loops.
Post race offerings include live music, a complimentary beer for participants aged 21 and over, snacks, and a bonfire.
The race is the second event in the Big River Trail Series. The series tallies points for runners who participate in three of six events, which include Wild in the Woods 5 mile or 10 mile, Skippo 10k, Skippo Half Marathon or Skippo 30k, and the Castlewood Cup 15k. Scoring is calculated from participation in each event.
Packet pickup is available before the race on Thursday, December 3 from Noon to 6:00 pm at Big River Running Company West County, 13969 Manchester Rd, Town and Country, MO 63011. Race day packet pickup takes place at Hilltop Shelter from 7:30 am to 9:00 am.
Regular registration fees are listed as $39 for the 5 mile and $49 for the 10 mile. Entrants will receive a custom giveaway to be announced. The event is presented by Big River Race Management. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
