Thrasher Night Trail
Thrasher Night Trail is a night trail running event at Cave Creek Regional Park in Cave Creek, Arizona, organized by Aravaipa Running. The event offers several race distances:
- 33K
- 22K
- 11K
- 5K
Courses run on rolling desert single track with both fast smooth sections and more mountainous sections. The core loop for the longer distances is an 11 kilometer loop that uses the Slate, Quartz, Go John and Overton Trails. Each loop includes two climbs named Quartz and Go John. The 33K course is three loops and the 22K course is two loops, with each lap passing the start and finish area.
A fully stocked main aid station is located at the Group Picnic Area at the start/finish and a remote Go John aid station serves the long loop. Aid stations provide water, ice, Gnarly Hydrate electrolyte drink, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, peanut butter and jelly, bean rollups, and hot food such as quesadillas and grilled cheese. Crews are allowed only at the start/finish, pacers are not permitted, and a drop bag area is available at the start/finish.
On site, the park charges a vehicle entry fee and pets are not allowed on course; campground facilities include developed sites with hookups and nearby restrooms. The event supports live split tracking and participates in a Double Down with the Cave Creek Thriller the following day, where completing both races earns a custom medal.
