Thrasher Night Trail
Thrasher Night Trail is a night trail running event held at Cave Creek Regional Park in Cave Creek, AZ. The event offers multiple looped distances that use rolling desert single track and a mix of smooth and mountainous trail sections.
Distances
- 33K
- 22K
- 11K
- 5K
The courses use an 11 kilometer loop that includes the Slate, Quartz, Go John and Overton Trails. The 33K distance completes three loops and the 22K completes two loops, with each lap passing the start and finish area. Each loop includes two climbs on the Quartz and Go John sections.
Aid stations include a main station at the start and finish area and a remote Go John aid station passed each loop. Stations are stocked with water, ice, an electrolyte drink brand, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, peanut butter and jelly, bean rollups, and hot food such as quesadillas and grilled cheese. A designated drop bag area is available at the start and finish.
Crews are allowed only at the start and finish area. Pacers are not allowed for any distance. Courses are marked with orange plastic ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions, laminated junction signs, and blue and white checkerboard flagging for wrong way trails. MedStar Solutions medical staff will be on site and may remove runners for medical reasons.
The park charges a vehicle entry fee and offers developed campsites with hookups, picnic tables, and restrooms with showers. Pets are not allowed on course at the night runs and must be leashed at the event. Finish line photos, chip timed results, finisher awards, and live tracking are provided. Thrasher is part of a series that runs near the Cave Creek Thriller event the following day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
