Thrasher Night Trail : Cave Creek Regional Park
Thrasher Night Trail is a series of night trail runs held at Cave Creek Regional Park in Cave Creek, AZ. The event offers multiple distances:
- 33K
- 22K
- 11K
- 5K
The courses run on rolling desert single-track with a mix of fast smooth sections and steeper mountainous sections. The primary loop includes the Slate, Quartz, Go John and Overton Trails. The 11-kilometer loop is used as the base for all distances: 33K is three loops, 22K is two loops, and the shorter distances complete portions of this routing. Each loop contains two climbs that use the Quartz and Go John trails.
Aid support includes a fully stocked main aid station at the Group Picnic Area and a remote Go John aid station on the long loop that runners pass each lap. Aid stations are supplied with water, ice, electrolyte drinks (Gnarly Hydrate), salty and sweet snacks, fruit, peanut butter and jelly, bean rollups, and hot food options such as quesadillas and grilled cheese. A drop bag area is available at the start/finish area for personal items.
Crew access is restricted to the start/finish area and pacers are not allowed. On-site information notes a park entry fee per vehicle, no pets on-course, available campground facilities, and that the event operates cupless with reusable cup options.
