Thrasher Night Trail
Thrasher Night Trail is a night trail running event at Cave Creek Regional Park in Cave Creek, Arizona, held Friday, October 16, 2026. The event uses the Horse Staging Area near the Nature Center as the start and finish location.
The event offers multiple distances:
- 33K
- 22K
- 11K
- 5K
Courses run on rolling desert single-track with both fast smooth sections and more mountainous sections. The main loop is an 11 kilometer circuit that uses the Slate, Quartz, Go John and Overton Trails. The 33K course is three laps of the long loop and the 22K course is two laps; each lap includes two climbs, Quartz and Go John.
Aid stations include a fully stocked main station at the start/finish group picnic area and a remote Go John aid station on the long loop. Aid stations provide water, ice, electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, fruit, pb&j, bean rollups and hot food such as quesadillas and grilled cheese. Drop bags are available at the start/finish; crews are allowed only at start/finish and pacers are not permitted.
Courses are marked with orange plastic ribbons with black polka dots, reflective medallions and laminated signs. MedStar Solutions medical staff will be based at the start/finish for first aid. Note that the park charges a park entry fee per vehicle and pets must be leashed and supervised. The event is cupless; reusable cups are available for purchase.
