Dixie Dash 5K & Kid's Sprint
The Dixie Dash on November 15, 2026 takes place at the Legacy Trail / Coldstream Park in northwest Lexington. The event benefits the Lexington Ronald McDonald House and is presented by Georgia Pacific.
Distances
- 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk on paved trail surfaces
- 200 yards Kid's Sprint for children 9 and under
- 3.1 miles virtual runner/walker option
The in-person 5K is a competitive, timed event on a flat paved trail. Awards are planned for the top three male and top three female overall finishers and for the top three male and top three female in 10 year age divisions. Commemorative unisex T-shirts are available while supplies last and free race photos will be provided. Social teams are part of the event with a prize for the largest team. Strollers and dogs on fixed length leashes are welcomed on the 5K course.
The Kid's Sprint is free and all participating children receive a participation medal; parents may purchase a commemorative shirt for an additional fee. A virtual runner/walker option is available and includes a mailed commemorative T-shirt. Volunteer shifts are needed on race day; volunteers who work a full shift receive a commemorative race T-shirt. The race route will be published later.
