Thoreau Road Race
The Thoreau Road Race is a community running event held in Concord, Massachusetts. The race takes place at the Thoreau Elementary School, located at 29 Prairie Street. Participants can choose between two main running events:
- 5k (3.1 miles) open to participants of all ages.
- Kids Run covering a distance of approximately 0.8 miles.
All events start and finish directly in front of the school building. Proceeds from the event are used to benefit the Thoreau Elementary School.
Parking is available within the surrounding neighborhood, though on-site parking at the school is limited. For those who register early, a race t-shirt is provided, although sizes and availability are not guaranteed for participants who register after May 1st.
The event offers an early packet pickup option on the Friday before the race from 3 to 4pm in front of the school. Alternatively, participants can pick up their race packets on the morning of the event. While pre-registration is available online, registration is also open on the morning of the race for an increased fee. Following the conclusion of the runs, an awards ceremony is held on-site to recognize participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
