Thirsty Thursday 5K - April
Thirsty Thursday 5K is a series of timed 5-kilometer pub runs sponsored by Good News Brewing and Fleet Feet St. Louis. The series takes place one Thursday each month from April through October and is held on the Katy Trail, starting from Good News Brewing in Defiance, Missouri, in the St. Louis area.
The course is an out-and-back on the Katy Trail. The event uses a professionally timed format and an open start line to allow for staggered departures, commute times, and low-stress check-in. For 2026 the event adds several features: no processing fees, a loyalty program, and age groups on the leaderboards.
Adults 21 and older who register receive a free beer from Good News Brewing. Good News Brewing also plans extended bar hours and will offer a pizza buffet for purchase after the run. Event registration offers optional swag for purchase during sign-up. The series emphasizes a combination of timed running and on-site refreshments at the brewery location.
