Race for the Roses
Race for the Roses is scheduled for April 25, 2026 at Queeny Park, Smith Pavilion in Ballwin, Missouri. The event includes a timed 5K run and an untimed 1K family walk. Net proceeds support Shriners Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K timed race
- 1K family walk (untimed)
5K registrants receive a complimentary race shirt. Family walk registrants may purchase a shirt during registration. Children ages 12 and under have a reduced registration fee. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at Fleet Feet Chesterfield between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Awards include a dozen roses and a plaque for overall male and female winners; second and third overall finishers receive plaques. Medals are given to top male and female finishers in the listed age groups: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.
A Best Derby Day Hat contest runs before and during the race; entries must register at the hat table prior to the race and the winner is selected by Kiwanis Club members. Race photos and winners photos will be posted on Kiwanis Club websites and Facebook pages, and an article with photos will be sent to Saint Louis County news organizations.
