Third Winchester Battlefield 5k, 10k & Half
This event on August 7, 2027, at Third Winchester Battlefield in Winchester, VA, offers three distance categories:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
The course is a trail route on mostly light gravel and dirt paths. The 5k is one loop, the 10k is two loops, and the half marathon is three loops with an out-and-back detour on each lap. Course maps are provided by the organizer. A chip-timed system is used and finishers receive a medal and a technical event shirt. Walkers are welcome and a virtual race option is available.
Water and facilities are provided: multiple water stations are placed along each course and port-a-johns are located near the start/finish area. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered, though t-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for day-of registrants. T-shirt orders are guaranteed for participants registered before July 28.
Results and timing: live results will be posted during the event and final results with series points are published after the race. Awards recognize the top three men and women overall and first and second place in standard age groups from 19 & under through 70 plus. Points from this event count toward the organizer’s year-long series and summer series.
