Holiday Scavenger Hunt Fun Run - Winchester
The Holiday Scavenger Hunt Fun Run is an evening group run in Winchester that pairs running and walking with a timed scavenger hunt. Frederick County Parks and Recreation is partnering with Runners' Retreat. The event location is 135 N. Loudoun Street, Winchester, VA 22601, and the course begins and ends at Runners' Retreat.
Teams of two to four participants receive a list of holiday-themed items with assigned points. Teams must stay together for the entire run. When a team finds an item they must take a photo that includes their team members; some items carry bonus points. Each team has one hour to search for items, return to Runners' Retreat, and report the final distance recorded on a running watch. Organizers ask that at least one person per team run with a running watch and a phone with space for photos.
Registration opens 10/26/2026 and closes 12/17/2026. The registration fee is $5. After the timed portion there is a social gathering at Vibrissa where the winning team is announced. Drinks and food at the social are the responsibility of participants.
Safety guidance encourages reflective clothing and festive lights to increase visibility during the evening activity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
