Third Thirsty Thursday Evening 5K Race Series
Pretzel City Sports presents the 21st annual Third Thirsty Thursday evening 5K series held April through October 2027 on the third Thursday of each month. The scheduled dates are April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, August 19, September 16, and October 21.
The venue is Trooper Thorn's Irish Beef House, 451 Morgantown Rd (Rt. 10), Reading, PA. Races start behind the pub and use wheel-measured, mostly flat courses on the Thun trail. The course is on packed cinder or paved trail and is typically run as an out-and-back with a 1.55 mile turnaround.
Entry options include a seven-race series or single-race entries. Series entry fees are $75 if postmarked by April 2, 2027, and $82 thereafter; individual races are $15 each. Series entrants may preregister; individual race entries are accepted on race night only. Amenities noted include a finish clock, mile markers, instant results, shirts for sale while supplies last, light eats, meals available for purchase, door prizes, and nearby street parking.
Event policies include a complimentary beer with each entry for those 21 and over and a free soft drink for minors. Entries under 21 must leave the venue by 9:30 PM unless with a parent. A Clydesdale/Clydette division is offered with defined minimum weights and once chosen applies to the entire series.
