Third Thirsty Thursday Evening 5K Race Series Race 4 of 7
Third Thirsty Thursday is a series of evening 5K road races held at Trooper Thorn's Irish Beef House, 451 Morgantown Rd, Reading, PA. The 2027 series runs April through October on the third Thursday of each month; this listing is race 4 of 7 on July 15. The course is wheel measured, mostly flat, and run on packed cinder or paved trail; the common layout is an out-and-back that uses a 1.55 mile out leg to a turnaround and returns to the start area behind the pub.
Registration policy distinguishes series entrants from individual race entrants: preregistration is available for the full seven-race series only, while individual race entry is accepted on race night. Entry fees for 2027 were set for the series and for individual races, with no refunds. The event usually runs rain or shine and, if postponed, is typically held the following Thursday.
Event services and amenities noted for participants include a finish clock, mile markers, instant results, light eats, shirts for sale while supplies last, door prizes, and nearby street parking. Every entry includes one complimentary beer for adults and a free soft drink for minors. There is a Clydesdale and Clydette division with weight minimums and a rule that category choice at first entry applies for the entire series. Awards are given for overall finishers and across multiple age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
