Third Thirsty Thursday Evening 5K Race Series : Race 2 of 7
This event is the second race in the Third Thirsty Thursday evening 5K series for 2027, held on May 20, 2027, at Trooper Thorn's Irish Beef House, 451 Morgantown Rd (Rt 10), Reading, PA. The series runs April through October on the third Thursday of each month and includes seven races in total.
The course is a wheel measured out and back on the Thun trail, largely flat and run on packed cinder or paved surfaces. Typical layouts send runners 1.55 miles out to a turnaround and back to the start. A finish clock, mile markers, and instant results are provided. The event offers light eats, meals available for purchase, shirts for sale while supplies last, door prizes, and street parking near the pub.
Awards include first overall male and female plus multiple age group prizes. A Clydesdale and Clydette category is offered with specific minimum weight thresholds; entry in that category must be declared at the first 2027 series race and applies for the entire series. Entries under 21 must leave the venue by 9:30 PM unless accompanied by a parent. The event is usually held rain or shine, with postponement handled to the next Thursday if needed.
