The Wurst Race
The Wurst Race is scheduled for August 15, 2026, at Germania Maennerchor in Evansville, Indiana. The event features a 5K out and back course that starts and finishes at Germania, follows Maryland Street to the Greenway Passage, and returns along the same route. Parking is available in a nearby gravel lot and on surrounding streets.
Timing services are provided by To the Finish Timing. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 13 and under; 14–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; 70–79; and 80 plus. The race proceeds in rain or shine and may be delayed if weather poses a safety concern.
Registration fees vary by date and options. A no shirt option reduces the fee. Veterans and active duty participants may use code VET5 for a $5 registration discount. All sales are final. Tultex unisex shirts are the event shirt and are guaranteed for registrations completed by July 20; a limited number of extras may be ordered after that date. Youth shirts are available upon request.
At the finish, beer and a brat will be available. Participants 21 and older may receive alcoholic beverages upon presentation of valid identification, subject to a maximum of two per person.
