The Wurst Race
The Wurst Race is a community 5K held in Evansville with start and finish at Germania Maennerchor, 916 N. Fulton Ave. The course is an out and back that follows Maryland Street to the Greenway Passage and returns to Germania. Timing is provided by To the Finish Timing.
Postrace refreshments include beer, brats, and water; alcohol is limited to two beers per person 21 and older and identification is required. The event lists Germania Maennerchor as the benefactor. The event will proceed in rain or shine; if threatening weather is in the area the organizers will delay until conditions are safe.
Registration fees are tiered: $30 until June 1, $35 until August 1, and $40 through race day. A $5 deduction applies for the no shirt option. Youth shirts are available upon request. All sales for the race are final and shirts are not guaranteed after race day unless prior arrangements are made.
Check in and packet pick up options include an early shirt and bib pickup the day before at Ultimate Fit and race morning check in at Germania. Awards are given to overall top male and female and runner up, plus the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and older.
