The Event
The WitchWood Trail Run is an endurance challenge taking place in Inverkip, Scotland. It is designed to be a flexible, 24-hour event where participants can run as many laps as they wish of a 5.9 km loop with 185 m of elevation gain per lap.
The Course and Format
The run takes place on trails through the forest and fields around Everton Scout Camp. Participants can start, stop, and rest whenever they choose within the 24-hour period, deciding their own pace and number of laps. The event has a basecamp at the start/finish area.
Facilities and Atmosphere
The basecamp at Everton Scout Camp offers facilities including showers, toilets, a kitchen, and a supply of coffee and water. Camping is encouraged, with a designated grass area for tents. The event aims for a festival atmosphere with local food suppliers, live music, and a communal firepit. Families and supporters are welcome.
Participant Inclusions
All runners receive a timing chip and bib number, a finisher medal, post-race refreshments, and access to on-site medical support and festival activities. The course is signposted and marshalled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
