Event overview
The 2026 RAAA 5 Mile Road Race Championship is the Renfrewshire AAA Road Race Championships hosted by Inverclyde AC on Sunday 8 February 2026 at Battery Park, Eldon Street, Greenock PA16 7QG. All races start and finish within Battery Park. Seniors and U20 athletes run out along the Greenock Esplanade before returning to the park. Chip timing will be used for every race.
Distances and age groups
- 5 miles - Senior Men and Women (including U20)
- 1.6 km - Boys U11
- 1.6 km - Girls U11
- 3 km - U13 Boys and Girls
- 3 km - U15 Boys and Girls
- 4 km - U17 Men and Women
U11 athletes must be at least 9 years old on race day. U17 and younger age groups race entirely within the park on traffic-free roads. All courses have been officially measured.
Entries, fees and declarations
Renfrewshire club contacts will receive a ProTay link; entries must be completed by Tuesday 3 February. Club members should not submit individual entries. Unaffiliated or non-Renfrewshire athletes may enter via the ProTay link posted on the Scottish Athletics events page. Entry fees are £8 for Seniors and U20s and £3 for Young Athletes; unaffiliated runners pay an additional £2 levy. No late or on-the-day entries will be accepted. U20 and Senior athletes must collect their own race number and timing chip; team managers may collect packs for junior athletes.
Facilities, results and awards
Public parking is available inside Battery Park near the skatepark on a first-come, first-served basis; additional on-street parking is nearby. Public toilets are available in the park; there are no changing or shower facilities. A designated area for club tents will be near the Start/Finish. First aid will be located near the Start/Finish. Tea, coffee and light catering will be available. Provisional results will be displayed on the Pavilion windows during the day and final results will be posted on the Scottish Athletics website. Individual medals will be awarded to the top three Renfrewshire club athletes in each age category and team medals will be awarded for specified age groups.
