Event overview
Run to the Castle Ultra is organised by How Hard Can It Be Events and takes place on 15 August 2026 in Aberdovey (LL35 0NR). The event offers two distance options and is point-to-point, finishing in the castle town of Harlech. Entry fees are shown in a range of about £45 to £70. Entrants must be aged 18 or over on the event date. The entry fee includes a fully recced course, food and drinks at four checkpoints, and a finishers medal. Results will be published online after the race.

The route follows the coastal path and passes the seafront at Tywyn, the village of Fairbourne and Barmouth before reaching Harlech. The course surface is a mixture of beach, tracks, and pavements, and it is described as well signed. The start is about 200 yards from Aberdovey train station and the finish is about 200 yards from Harlech train station. One bag per runner will be transported from the start to the finish area. There is a 12-hour time limit for completion. Compulsory kit includes a rucksack and bladder or bottle to carry at least 1 litre of water, emergency food, a fully charged mobile phone, waterproof jacket, whistle, map of the area, compass and a first aid kit.
