Run to the Castle Ultra
Run to the Castle offers a point-to-point coastal event with a choice of ultra and marathon distances. The route follows the coastal path from Aberdyfi, passing Tywyn, Fairbourne and Barmouth, and finishes in the castle town of Harlech, a route of approximately 42 miles for the ultra.

The course is fully recced and clearly signed. Surface types include beach, tracks, and pavements. Four staffed checkpoints provide food and drinks along the route. Entry includes a finishers medal and results are published online after the race. A 12 hour overall time limit applies.
Logistics note that the start is about 200 yards from Aberdovey train station and the village car park, and Harlech station is approximately 200 yards from the finish. One bag per runner will be transported from the start to the finish area. Current timetables show services roughly every 90 to 120 minutes.
Compulsory kit requirements include a rucksack and bladder or bottle to carry at least 1 litre of water, emergency food, a fully charged mobile phone, waterproof jacket, whistle, map of the area (organisers will supply a basic route map), compass, and a first aid kit.
