The Way Home Famous Families 5K and Fun Run
The Way Home Famous Families 5K and Fun Run takes place on June 6, 2026, at Rock Creek Park, 445 Martin Rd., Dawsonville, GA 30534. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and supports The Way Home charity. Proceeds provide scholarships for individual and family counseling, and fund caregiver training and coaching for families raising children from hard places, including those with foster care involvement. A prize is awarded for the best family costumes.
Event distance options:
- 5K, certified 5 kilometer course inside Rock Creek Park
- Fun Run, on-site family fun distance
- Virtual 5K, run at a location of the participant’s choice and submit a time
The 5K course is certified and described as flat and family and spectator friendly. Awards include top finishers overall and in age divisions: top 3 overall M/F; top 3 Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters M/F; and top 3 in 5-year age groups from 10 & under through 75+. Packet pickup is provided on race morning. Registered participants by May 27 are guaranteed event swag in their size; afterwards swag is while supplies last.
Registration pricing is tiered with early bird, regular, late, and race day rates for the 5K, Fun Run, and virtual races. Virtual packages are shipped to continental US addresses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
