Event Details
A notable feature is a costume theme. Participants are encouraged to run dressed as their favorite fictional or non-fictional family. A special prize is given for the best costume.
All proceeds from the event fund a charitable purpose. The funds provide scholarships for individual and family counseling, as well as caregiver training and coaching for families, including those raising children with foster care involvement.
The 5K course is described as "super flat" and is certified. It is located entirely inside Rock Creek Park. Team participation is encouraged, with discounts for groups of 5 or more.
Awards are given for multiple categories, including top overall finishers (male and female), masters, grand masters, senior grand masters, and top three finishers in standard 5-year age groups from 10 & under through 75+.
A virtual option allows participants to run on their own schedule. For those registered by May 27, race swag is guaranteed in their size; after that date, it is available while supplies last. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
