Tri the Parks - Lake Lanier Rowing Park Sprint
This multisport event offers several sprint-distance competitions on one date. The events include the Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Duathlon, Sprint Aquabike, and relay versions of each. The race is located at Lake Lanier Rowing Park on Clarks Bridge Road in Gainesville, Georgia.
Race Information The event has a participant field limit of 450. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after a specified date. Registration officially closes at 6:00 AM on race day or when the limit is reached. For the transition area, bike racks are assigned based on race numbers. All athletes receive body marking with their race number and age. Swimmers must wear the colored cap provided in their race packet, as the color indicates their start position.
The Courses The triathlon consists of three segments: a 600 m swim, a 14.7 mile bike ride, and a 5k run. The swim course in Lake Lanier starts near a rowing tower, involves two turns, and finishes at a boat ramp. Wetsuit legality depends on the race-day water temperature reading. The bike course uses roads in northern Hall County, featuring rolling hills and is open to traffic. The run course is an out-and-back route along Clarks Bridge Road.
The duathlon replaces the swim with an initial run leg using part of the same 5k route, followed by the same bike course and a second run. The aquabike event comprises the swim and bike segments only.
Logistics Parking opens at 6:00 AM and is on a first-come, first-served basis, with overflow parking available across the road. An awards ceremony is scheduled for later in the morning. All athletes must be at least 9 years old to participate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
