Tri the Parks - Lake Lanier Rowing Park Sprint
The event takes place on June 6, 2026, in Gainesville, GA at 3105 Clarks Bridge Road. It offers multiple event types: Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Duathlon, Sprint Aquabike, and relay versions of each. The event field limit is 450 and registration closes on June 6 or when the field limit is reached. Entry is open to ages 9 and older. T-shirts are not guaranteed for entries made after May 24.
Courses and format
The triathlon uses a time trial swim start. Key course distances are:
- 600 m swim
- 14.7 miles (23.7 km) bike
- 5 km (3.1 miles) run
Swim: The swim starts near the rowing tower and finishes at the boat ramp. The route goes 100 m to the first buoy, 400 m parallel to shore, then 100 m to the finish. Swim cap colors identify swim start position. Wetsuit legality is decided on race morning based on water temperature; wetsuits are allowed when water temperature is below 78 degrees.
Bike: The bike course follows local roads, including Clarks Bridge Road, Bogus Road, and Napone Road, and is marked with directional signs and mile markers every two miles. The course remains open to traffic and will have staff and sheriff officers at intersections.
Run: The run is an out-and-back 5k that exits transition near the boat ramp and finishes on the plaza above the rowing grandstands.
Logistics and race-day procedures
Transition bike racks correspond to assigned race numbers. All athletes receive body marking with race number and age. Swim caps and, for aquabike athletes, a green wristband are provided in race packets. Parking is first-come, first-served with attendants directing vehicles; overflow parking is across the road and a tunnel provides a safe crossing to transition. Course maps are included in race packets. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
