Course and race logistics
Distances:
- 600 m swim
- 14.7 miles bike
- 5 km run
The swim is a 600 m course beginning near the rowing tower and finishing at the boat ramp, with a rectangular routing via buoys. Swim starts use a time trial format with athletes lining up by race number and starting at five-second intervals. Wetsuit use is decided by a race-day water temperature reading; wetsuits are allowed when the water temperature is below 78 degrees.
The 14.7 mile bike follows Clarks Bridge Road, Bogus Road and Napone Road, includes a 4 mile loop, and is open to traffic with directional signs, mile markers every two miles, course staff and uniformed sheriff officers at intersections. The run is a 5 km out-and-back along Clarks Bridge Road finishing on the plaza above the rowing grandstands.
Transition details: bike racks correspond to assigned race numbers; athletes will be body marked and must wear provided swim caps. Aquabike athletes receive a green wristband and exit transition with runners. Parking is first-come, first-served with overflow across the road and a tunnel to access transition.
