The Wacky Dash 5K
The Wacky Dash is a community 5K held at Lake Wilderness Park in Maple Valley, Washington. The event follows an out-and-back route called the Be the Hope Route that starts and ends in the park, using the Lake Wilderness Trail and passing through the Arboretum. The distance is 5K.
Registration opens on May 29 with an early registration period through July 18. Early adult registration is $30 and later adult registration is $35. Children aged 5 to 12 register for $5; children 4 and under are free. T-shirts are only guaranteed for registrations completed by July 18. A small handling fee applies to registrations.
The event emphasizes playful elements along the course, including themed activities, sponsor stops, and community engagement. The finish area includes a foam finish for children and a Royal Flush Photo Booth. The day also features the Wacky Business Bash, a business expo with local businesses, community organizations, activities, and giveaways.
Pre-race packet pickup is offered on July 31 with location to be determined. Parking is available at Lake Wilderness Park; organizers recommend arriving early. The event is not chip timed, and jogging strollers are permitted on the trail. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
