The Pigtails Run is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025 in Maple Valley, WA. Distances offered are:
- 50K (total 31.16 miles)
- Marathon (total 26.26 miles)
- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
The start location is the Cedar to Green River Trail entrance near the Four Corners shopping area (near Mod Pizza, Panera, DQ, Grocery Outlet). Registration closes on December 1, 2025. No refunds or deferrals are offered; bib transfers are allowed in person before mid-November for a fee. Packet pickup is on race morning.
Course and logistics
The route is mostly paved blacktop trail with some dirt, gravel and over six miles of crushed rock. Turnpoints and approximate aid locations are marked with pink ribbon, stakes and paint; runners are advised to use GPS. The half marathon turnaround is near the last footbridge before the Landsburg trailhead; marathoners run a double out-and-back; 50K runners use the Landsburg parking turnaround for the longer out-and-back. The event is USATF sanctioned but not BQ certified.
Support is limited: an unmanned on-course aid station provides water, electrolyte drink and small snacks at roughly the 5.5 mile area, and the main aid at the start/finish offers additional food (including soup, pizza at the finish in limited quantities). No gluten-free pizza options. No drop bags; runners should carry personal items. Dogs are not allowed on the course and strollers are not recommended. Timing uses WebScorer and results are posted on UltraSignup after the race. Volunteers are needed; multi-hour volunteers receive incentives for the following year.
