Overview
The Valentine's 10k, 5k @ Bay Ridge takes place along New York Bay. The event offers two distances: a 5K and a 10K.
Location
The event is held at the American Veterans Memorial Pier on Shore Road in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
Course Details
The course runs along the shoreline. The 5K is a single-loop course. The 10K consists of two loops of the same route. Mile markers are placed along the course. Water tables with electrolyte drinks, water, and gels are available at three locations on the loop.
Event Information
Packet pick-up begins before the event, requiring a picture ID and knowledge of your bib number. A secure personal items area is available for participants. Headphones are not allowed for safety reasons, as a public, multi-use path with separate lanes for cyclists and pedestrians is used.
Amenities & Timing
All participants receive a finisher medal and a technical t-shirt. Post-race refreshments include bagels. The event uses live chip timing, with results uploaded online as runners cross timing mats on each loop. The race is also live-streamed. An awards ceremony is held for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as for age group winners. Awards are not mailed.
