The Ultra Loop - Lyme Park
The Ultra Loop is an 8-hour running event held at Lyme Park in Disley, Stockport SK12 2NR. Participants run as many laps as they can on a 5.6 km loop that mixes trails, grass and a small amount of road. Each completed lap records lap time, and final results show number of laps, total distance and elapsed time; any laps not finished by the event cut-off are not counted.
The route begins at The Knott, passes through Crow Wood and Elmshurst Wood, climbs to The Cage and returns past Lyme Hall. The course is not closed to the public, so walkers and dog walkers may be present. Elevation per lap is 118 m (387 ft). Trail shoes are recommended.
Entries are available for solo runners or teams of up to four running in relay style, with only one team member on course at a time. Team results appear on a separate leaderboard. Entry fees are listed at £30 to £36 and the event date is 27 June 2027. Participants collect race bibs at registration on the morning of the event. Runners aged 12 to 15 must have a parent or guardian contact the organisers and that parent or guardian must attend; under 12s are not permitted.
The start/finish area serves as the aid station and spectator zone. The aid station offers water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes from the event sponsor VOOM. A bag drop is available throughout the day, participants should bring their own bottle as cups are not provided, and portaloos are situated at the aid station.
