The Ultra Loop - Leeds
The Ultra Loop is a timed running event held at Temple Newsam Park in Leeds. Participants have a total of 8 hours to complete as many laps as they choose. The event is designed with a flexible format, allowing runners to decide their own distance by completing multiple circuits of a fixed course.
The event features a 5 km loop on mixed terrain, including woodland trails, gravel paths, and park roads. The course includes approximately 88m of elevation per lap. As the route remains open to the public, participants may encounter other park users such as walkers. Trail shoes are recommended due to the variety of surfaces encountered on the course.
A central event village serves as the start and finish line, acting as the primary timing point for each lap. Facilities at this location include:
- A bag drop area and toilets.
- A singular aid station providing water, fruit, snacks, and electrolytes.
- A designated spectator and crew area where personal aid stations can be set up.
The event operates on a sustainable basis, requiring runners to bring their own bottles for refills as no cups are provided. Participants receive chip-timed results, live event tracking, and a finisher's medal regardless of the total distance covered. Entry is open to individuals aged 16 and over, while those aged 12-15 may participate if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
