The Ultra Loop - Temple Newsam, Leeds
The Ultra Loop is an inclusive and flexible running event hosted by Resolute Running that gives each participant a fixed time window of 8 hours to complete as many laps as they can. The course is a mixed terrain loop of 5 km that combines woodland trail, gravel paths and park road around Temple Newsam Park in Leeds. Each crossing of the start/finish line records a lap time; final results show number of laps completed, total distance and elapsed time. All finishers receive a finishing time and a medal.
The route has approximately 88 m of elevation and is not on a closed course, so runners should expect other park users such as walkers or dog walkers. The organisers recommend trail shoes for the mixed surfaces. Support is concentrated at a single aid station by the start/finish where participants can fill bottles, access water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes supplied by the event sponsor VOOM. The event operates on a bring your own bottle basis and does not provide cups. A bag drop is available throughout the day and portaloos are provided near the aid station.
Entry fee is listed as £34. Under 12s are not permitted; participants aged 12 to 15 require prior arrangement with the organiser and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. On entry participants receive confirmation and an event guide, and race bibs are collected at registration on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
