The Ultra Bird 12hr and 6hr Trail Races
The Ultra Bird is a fall endurance event at Pigeon Creek County Park in West Olive, Michigan. The event features timed trail races and ruck challenges on an approximately 5K loop of wooded singletrack with rolling terrain, one larger steady climb, and about 165 feet of elevation gain per loop. The looped format provides frequent access to aid stations, crew support, and spectator viewing.
Race and challenge options include:
- 12-Hour Trail Race - run as many miles as possible within the time limit
- 6-Hour Trail Race - timed endurance on singletrack
- 10K Trail Race - a fall trail distance on the loop
- 5K Trail Race - a shorter looped trail race
- 6-Hour RUCK Challenge - carry a minimum 20 lb ruck or weighted vest
- 3-Hour RUCK Challenge - shorter weighted endurance effort
Facilities and logistics: start and finish are at the Pigeon Creek Ski Lodge. Parking is available on site within walking distance. A staffed, fully stocked aid station, drop bag area, and bathrooms are provided at the start/finish. Pacers are allowed for the 12-hour and 6-hour events. Runners in the 12-hour and 6-hour events must carry a headlamp. The park remains open to the public during the event; trails will be signed and marked but public access cannot be restricted.
