Ultra Bird Trail Races & RUCK Challenge
The Ultra Bird Trail Races & RUCK Challenge is a fall endurance event at Pigeon Creek County Park in West Olive, Michigan. The event benefits the Egress Endurance Project, a nonprofit focused on supporting people in recovery through outdoor movement, structured endurance challenges, and community.
Event options include:
- 12 hour timed trail race
- 6 hour timed trail race
- 10K trail race
- 5K trail race
- 6 hour RUCK Challenge with minimum 20 lb ruck or weighted vest
- 3 hour RUCK Challenge
All events use an approximately 5K loop on well groomed wooded trails around Pigeon Creek. The loop features rolling terrain, peak fall color, an elevation gain of about 165 ft per loop, and one larger steady climb followed by a significant downhill. Start and finish are at the Pigeon Creek Ski Lodge. The looped course provides frequent aid station access, crew support opportunities, and places for spectators.
On-site amenities include parking within walking distance, an aid station at the start/finish, drop bag space, hydration and pre packed trail snacks, and bathrooms. Pacers are allowed for the 12 hour and 6 hour events. Participants in the 12 hour and 6 hour events must bring a headlamp. The park remains open to the public during the event and trails will be marked with signage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
