The Ultra Bird Trail Races and RUCK Challenge at Pigeon Creek County Park
The event groups timed trail running and rucking challenges on a roughly 5K loop at Pigeon Creek County Park in West Olive, Michigan. The loop uses well groomed, wooded trails with rolling terrain, an elevation gain of about 165 feet per loop, and one larger steady climb followed by a substantial downhill. The looped format allows frequent access to the aid station, crew locations, and spectator areas.
Distance and challenge options include:
- 12-Hour Trail Race
- 6-Hour Trail Race
- 10K Trail Race
- 5K Trail Race
- 6-Hour RUCK Challenge with minimum 20 lb load
- 3-Hour RUCK Challenge with minimum 20 lb load
Event features for timed events list a fully stocked aid station, a drop bag area, hydration and pre-packaged trail food, finisher medals, event patches, and optional apparel. Pacers are allowed for the 12-hour and 6-hour events. Packet pick-up occurs on race day at the Pigeon Creek Lodge. Bathrooms are available at the lodge and parking is provided on site within walking distance of the start and finish.
Park regulations keep the park open to the public during the event, trails will be marked, and participants and visitors are asked to share the trails respectfully. The event supports the Egress Endurance Project, a nonprofit focused on using outdoor movement and structured endurance activities to support individuals affected by addiction.
There are no refunds; bib transfers to another participant or to another event are permitted under event policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
