The Ultra Bird 12hr and 6hr Trail Races
The Ultra Bird Trail Races & RUCK Challenge will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Pigeon Creek County Park in West Olive, Michigan. The event supports the Egress Endurance Project, a nonprofit focused on addiction recovery through outdoor movement.
Participants can choose from several timed trail running and weighted rucking challenges. The trail running events include a 12-hour race, a 6-hour race, a 10K trail race, and a 5K trail race. The rucking challenges are a 6-hour RUCK and a 3-hour RUCK, where participants must carry a minimum 20-pound ruck or weighted vest.
All events occur on an approximately 5K looped course within the park, featuring wooded trails and rolling terrain with about 165 feet of elevation gain per loop. The course starts and finishes at the Pigeon Creek Ski Lodge. The park will remain open to the public during the event.
Facilities include parking on-site, an aid station at the start/finish area, a place for drop bags, and bathrooms. Pacers are allowed for the 12-hour and 6-hour running events. Headlamps are required for participants in the 12-hour and 6-hour races.
Packet pickup is on race day at the Pigeon Creek Lodge from 7:00 AM to 7:50 AM for timed event runners, and from 8:15 AM to 8:50 AM for 5K and 10K runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
