The Ultra Bird Trail Races and RUCK Challenge take place at Pigeon Creek County Park in West Olive, Michigan, using a roughly 5K loop on wooded trails with rolling terrain. Each loop has about 165 ft of elevation gain and includes one larger climb and a corresponding downhill.
Event options include:
- 12-Hour Trail Race
- 6-Hour Trail Race
- 10K Trail Race
- 5K Trail Race
- 6-Hour RUCK Challenge
- 3-Hour RUCK Challenge
Timed events have a fully stocked aid station at the start/finish, provisions for drop bags, hydration, and pre-packaged trail snacks. Bathrooms and on-site parking within walking distance of the start/finish are available. Packet pick-up is scheduled on race day at the Pigeon Creek Lodge. Pacers are allowed for the 12-hour and 6-hour events. Runners in the 12-hour and 6-hour races are required to carry a headlamp.
The park will remain open to the public during the event; trails will be marked and signage will be present, but park rules limit the ability to restrict other users. Event policy notes that no refunds are issued, although bib transfers to another runner or another event are permitted with any price differences settled by the participant. A final loop may be started if begun at or before 15 minutes before the end of an individual timed event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
