The Two Bays Trail Run : Magnetic Island, 23 May 2026
The Two Bays Trail Run takes place on Magnetic Island with Race HQ at the Magnetic Island State School sports oval in Nelly Bay and a finish at the Arcadia Village Hotel pub. The event offers clearly marked, marshalled courses that run through Magnetic Island National Park and along coastal sections with views over Horseshoe Bay.
Distances offered:
- 6 km - Nelly Bay to Arcadia, technical single track and downhill finish.
- 12 km - Out-and-back via the Forts car park and Sphinx Lookout.
- 21 km - Large lap including Horseshoe Bay beaches, Radical Bay and a final climb to Arcadia.
The trails are single track with technical sections, steps and climbs. Course signage includes arrows, wrong way markers and turn signs; marshals and a safety vehicle support the route. There is on course hydration and snack support but no cups are provided, so runners must carry their own bottles. Entry fees include professional electronic timing, on course photography, first aid support, post-race hydration and fruit, bag transfer to the finish, and series points and prizes for top finishers.
Mandatory gear is required for the 12 km and 21 km distances and includes compression bandages, a charged phone, a whistle, an emergency blanket and sufficient food and water. A head torch is mandatory for the 21 km course. Minimum ages are 8 years for short distances and 11 years for longer distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
