The Trident Trail Races
The Trident Trail Races is a multi-race trail event held at Jupiter Ridge Natural Area in Jupiter, Florida. The event uses ancient sugar sand dunes as course terrain and repeatedly visits the highest natural point in Palm Beach County, roughly 44 to 45 feet above sea level. The protected 271 acre natural area contains coastal scrub habitat and supports over 200 plant and animal species.
Five distinct race formats are offered, including these distances and formats:
- Half Marathon (Nooner): 13.2 miles, four 3.3 mile loops, strict four hour cutoff.
- Ciento Dos: 102 miles, 31 loops, 36 hour time limit, >8,500 feet elevation gain.
- Immolation: 80 miles in a 24 hour elimination format, one 3.3 mile loop per hour.
- A Series of Unfortunate 5Ks: 3.3 mile loop repeatable up to 10 times for 33 miles, 10 hour limit.
- Twilight Trident: night half marathon, 13.2 miles, four hour time limit.
Longer events require finished qualifying efforts within the prior 18 months; examples include trail 50k or longer, road 50 mile efforts, and specified timed or ultra performances. Aid stations will offer ice, water, chilled fruit and fuel; medical staff will evaluate runners on course. Ciento Dos may be run crewed or uncrewed; crew canopies are allowed near the start area. Finishers receive medals, shirts and awards; timing and official results are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
