Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur
Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur is a trail race held at Jupiter Ridge Natural Area in Jupiter, FL. The event marks its 10th year and is organized by Sand Spur Ultra. It is a Christmas themed edition with holiday treats at aid stations and themed awards.
The course is an approximately 4.5 mile loop that uses trails across ancient coastal sand dunes and the Trident dunes, with views of the Intracoastal Waterway and sections such as the sand pine Tunnel of Love. The site is part of a 270 acre Florida Scrub habitat that hosts rare plant and animal species; the race operates with an entrant cap of 80 to protect this environment and is coordinated with Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management.
Distances offered:
- 50K - seven loops on an approximately 4.5 mile course, about 1,400 feet gain
- Half marathon - three loops, about 600 feet of elevation gain/loss
- Silent Night 30k - four loops, night race
Aid and logistics include two aid stations (start/finish and a 2.25 mile mark), a drop bag zone allowing one small duffle or tote or small cooler labeled with name and bib number, and professional chip timing by Trailhead Ultras. The refund policy includes a full refund minus the registration platform fee until October 1, 2026, partial refunds in October and November, and transferable race credit after December 1, 2026.
