Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur - December 26, 2026
Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur is a trail running event in Jupiter, Florida, held at Jupiter Ridge Natural Area and organized by Sand Spur Ultra. The event uses a roughly 4.5 mile loop on ancient coastal sand dunes within a protected 270 acre scrub habitat.
Distances offered
- 50K : 7 loops on a ~4.5 mile course, about 1,400 feet elevation gain.
- 30K (Silent Night) : 4 loops, 6 hour cutoff.
- Half marathon : 3 loops, about 600 feet elevation gain.
The natural area contains over 200 species of plants and animals, including 31 plant species and 14 animal species that are listed as threatened, rare, or of special concern. The terrain features deep sand, dunes (including the county's highest natural points), and sections of firmer footing used to moderate difficulty.
Field size is limited to 80 entrants to reduce environmental impact and comply with Palm Beach County permitting. Race logistics include two aid stations on the loop (start/finish and a point around 2.25 miles), a drop bag zone at the start/finish with one small labeled bag permitted, and professional chip timing. Participants are never more than 2.25 miles from aid.
Refund and transfer policy: full refund minus the Ultrasignup fee until October 1, 2026; partial refunds during October and November; full race credit transferable after December 1, 2026. Registration fees support event operations and contributions to local natural areas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
