Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur (2026 Christmas Edition)
The Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur is a trail running event held in Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, Jupiter, Florida. The event is presented as a Christmas-themed edition with holiday treats at aid stations and Christmas themed awards. It offers multiple looped distances on a roughly 4.5 mile loop that runs across ancient coastal dunes and sand scrub habitat.
Distances offered:
- 50K, seven loops on the ~4.5 mile course, about 1,400 feet of elevation gain
- Silent Night 30k, four loops on the same looped course
- Half marathon, three loops, about 600 feet of elevation gain
The course uses many of the park trails and includes features named in the course description such as the Trident dunes and a sand pine tunnel. Each loop affords a view of the Intracoastal Waterway. A prominent dune known as Mount Ridge rises about 49 feet above sea level; it is summited twice per loop.
Jupiter Ridge Natural Area covers approximately 270 acres of coastal scrub, a rare habitat home to dozens of plant and animal species, including species considered threatened or of special concern. For environmental protection the event limits participants to 80 runners and works with Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management.
Logistics include a start/finish area drop bag zone with one small bag allowed, access to belongings each loop, two aid stations (start/finish and about 2.25 miles into the loop), and professional chip timing. Registration and refund terms include a full refund minus the registration platform fee through October 1, 2026, partial refunds during October and November, and transferable race credit after December 1, 2026.
