Tommy Runs 2026 : Seaham seafront
Tommy Runs takes place on Sunday 1 November 2026 at the Tommy statue on North Terrace, Seaham SR7 7EU. Routes run along the seafront and include road, promenade, and coastal trail sections. A one minute silence will be observed before each race.
The event begins at the war memorial statue officially titled 1101, which depicts a reflective First World War soldier in the first minute of peace after the Armistice. The courses use the seafront area and nearby roads and paths.
Distances
- 5 km Run, age 11 plus, closed roads, 80 ft elevation.
- 10 km Run, age 15 plus, scenic seafront, mixed terrain.
A 90 minute cut-off applies because of road closures; the races are for runners only and are not suitable for walkers. The event is not canicross friendly and dogs are not permitted. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, event T-shirt, and a snack. Public car parking is available in Seaham.
Tommy Runs 2026 will support Louie’s Trust, a small Sunderland charity that assists children with rare and undiagnosed conditions and their families while they receive hospital treatment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
