Tommy Runs 2026
Tommy Runs take place on Sunday 1 November 2026 along the Seaham seafront, with routes that include road, promenade and coastal trails. The event starts at the Tommy War Memorial Statue, officially titled 1101 (Eleven-O-One). A one-minute silence will be observed before each race. The statue depicts a reflective WWI soldier in the first minute of peace after the Armistice.

Distances
- 5 km run, age 11+, closed roads, 80 ft elevation.
- 10 km run, age 15+, seafront course on closed roads and firm trails.
Live chip timing is provided and results are instant. There is a 90 minute cut-off time due to road closures; the event is a running race only and is not suitable for walkers. The event is not canicross friendly and no dogs are permitted.
All finishers receive a metal event medal, an event t-shirt and a snack. Public car parking is available in Seaham. The event will support Louie’s Trust, a small charity based in Sunderland that supports children and families while they receive treatment in hospital.
