The Tommy Runs 2026
The Tommy Runs take place on Sunday 1 November 2026, the Sunday before Remembrance Sunday. The event is set along the Seaham seafront and uses road, promenade, and coastal trail sections. Races begin at the Tommy War Memorial Statue and a one minute silence is observed before each race.
The statue, officially titled 1101 (Eleven-O-One), depicts a reflective World War I soldier in the first minute of peace after the Armistice and honours the archetypal private soldier known as Tommy Atkins.
Distances
