Tommy Runs 2026
Tommy Runs takes place on Sunday 1 November 2026, the Sunday before Remembrance Sunday, along the Seaham seafront. The event starts at the Tommy War Memorial Statue, officially titled 1101 (Eleven O One), which depicts a reflective World War One soldier. A one minute silence will be observed before each race.
Routes use a mix of closed roads, promenade and firm coastal trails. Live chip timing will provide instant results. Road closures impose a 90 minute cut off and the races are for running only; walking is not permitted. The event is not canicross friendly and dogs are not allowed.
Distances
- 5 km Run, age 11 plus, closed roads, about 80 ft elevation
- 10 km Run, age 15 plus, seafront course on roads, promenade and trails
All finishers receive a metal event medal, an event t shirt and a snack. Public car parking is available in Seaham. The event will support Louie’s, a small charity based in Sunderland that helps children and families while they receive hospital treatment.
