Event
The Tommy Runs take place on Sunday 1 November 2026 at the Tommy War Memorial Statue (officially titled 1101 / Eleven-O-One), North Terrace, Seaham SR7 7EU (what3words: ///fidelity.diary.tiles). Routes run along the Seaham seafront and include road, promenade, and coastal trail sections. A one-minute silence will be observed before each race. The event is scheduled for the Sunday before Remembrance Sunday.
Race details
- 5 km - age 11+, closed roads, about 80 ft of elevation
- 10 km - age 15+, seafront course on mixed terrain
Live chip timing will be used and results are provided instantly. A 95-minute cut-off applies because of road closures; the event is a running race only and is not suitable for walkers. The event is not canicross friendly - no dogs allowed. All finishers will receive an event medal, event t-shirt, a snack and a drink. Public car parking is available in Seaham. A donation from ticket sales will be made to Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes. Registration opens 3 November 2025 and closes 28 October 2026. Entry prices listed in the event information are £20.00 + fee for the 5 km and £24.00 + fee for the 10 km; remaining places were shown as 500 for the 5 km and 1200 for the 10 km.
