The Thin Blue Line Run 5K
The Thin Blue Line Run 5K is scheduled for October 24, 2026 at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Academy and Recruitment on Shopton Road in Charlotte, NC (1750 Shopton Rd, 28217, USA). The event is a fundraising run, walk, and ruck to support the Charlotte's Finest Legacy Foundation. The foundation honors and remembers Officers Sean Clark and Jeff Shelton who were killed in the line of duty on April 1, 2007.
The event offers a standard 5K distance plus organized ruck divisions where participants carry weight during the 5K. Ruck options listed include 20 lb and 30 lb requirements; participants supply their own weight and backpacks. There are also youth options: children 17 and under may participate free with a parent or guardian registration and a separate Kids Run of 1 mile is offered free; shirts are not included for those free entries. A Sleep-in Supporter option is listed and includes a shirt.
Registration pricing is shown in two tiers with an early rate and a later rate. Registration fees are nonrefundable unless the Refund Protection Program was purchased. Race management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event for unfavorable conditions and registration fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to Acts of God.
