Lights & Sirens Race for Hope for Special Olympics North Carolina
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol presents the Lights & Sirens Race for Hope for Special Olympics North Carolina at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The event is a community fundraising event produced in partnership with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics North Carolina. It benefits nearly 53,000 registered Special Olympics North Carolina athletes and Unified partners.
The event program includes the following distances:
- 5K run
- 1.5 miles fun run/walk around the race track
The second community fundraising event of this type at Charlotte Motor Speedway, it offers the opportunity to run on the speedway track. The first 250 registered 5K participants will receive a free voucher for the Christmas Light Show at Charlotte Motor Speedway; Fun Run participants are not included in this promotion.
Registration opens March 18, 2026 and closes November 30, 2026. Registration fees listed are $25.00 for the 5K and $20.00 for the fun run. Parking is inside the track through the Gate 13 tunnel; Special Olympics North Carolina directional signs will be posted for guidance.
