Lights & Sirens Race for Hope for Special Olympics North Carolina
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol presents the Lights & Sirens Race for Hope for Special Olympics North Carolina, a community fundraising event held at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC (5555 Concord Parkway South, Concord 28027). The event takes place on Saturday, December 12, 2026, and features a 5K run and a shorter fun run around the race track. The event is organized through the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics North Carolina.
Participants will run on the Charlotte Motor Speedway track in support of nearly 53,000 registered Special Olympics North Carolina athletes and Unified partners. The first 250 registered 5K participants will receive a voucher for the Charlotte Motor Speedway Christmas Light Show; this promotion does not apply to fun run participants. Packet pick up begins on race day.
