Event Overview
The Night Owl event takes place at the Anne Springs Close Greenway, utilizing the trail network near the Lake Haigler entrance. This evening event features multiple ways to experience the trails under the moonlight, including competitive and non-competitive options. Participants are encouraged to wear festive holiday outfits or winter pajamas, with prizes awarded for the best-dressed individuals.
The venue provides access to the Greenway Canteen for food and drinks, as well as a visitor center for gear. Participants are encouraged to use headlamps, glow sticks, and flashlights for navigation on the night trails.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from the following activities:
- 5K: A timed competitive trail race.
- Hike Challenge: A non-timed 5K walk on the same course as the run.
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk: An untimed short-distance trail event.
Logistics and Awards
The event starts and finishes at the Lake Haigler entrance in Fort Mill. All 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk participants receive a finisher's prize upon completion. Competitive awards are reserved specifically for the 5K race and are distributed across various age groups from 19 & under to 70+, as well as for the top three overall male and female finishers. Early packet pickup is available the day before the event at the Greenway Gateway. Registration includes a refund protection plan option to cover various personal or weather-related conflicts.
