Event overview
Night Owl 5K is a night trail event held on December 11, 2026, at the Lake Haigler Entrance of Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, SC. The event includes a timed 5K, an untimed Hike Challenge that follows the same 5K course, a 1-mile untimed Fun Run/Walk that starts and finishes alongside the 5K, and a campout option. The race starts and finishes at the Lake Haigler entrance, where the Greenway Canteen is available and fire pits are provided for marshmallow roasting. The visitor center will offer gear and membership sales.

Competition, awards and participant notes
Awards apply only to the 5K. Age groups for awards are 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Awards include top three overall male and female finishers and top three male and female in each age group. The Hike Challenge and the 1-mile Fun Run are untimed; Fun Run participants receive a finisher’s prize. Fun Run registration does not include free or discounted camping.
Registration is non-refundable unless a purchased refund protection plan covers cancellation reasons listed at registration. Transfers more than two weeks before the event may be permitted at the Race Director’s discretion. Events run rain or shine unless severe weather forces cancellation.
